The Higher Education Authority has welcomed the announcement from the Taoiseach, Mr Simon Harris TD and Mr Patrick O’Donovan, TD, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science of the commencement of the second call for proposals under the North South Research Programme.

The joint announcement can be viewed here.

The North South Research Programme is a collaborative scheme funded by the Government of Ireland through the Shared Island Fund and is being delivered by the Higher Education Authority on behalf of the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science and the Shared Island Unit at the Department of An Taoiseach.  The Programme supports collaborative research on an all-Ireland basis.

This second call for proposals is prioritising substantial collaborations between North South research teams.  It is expected that the projects recommended for funding, following a competitive process, will receive up to €4 million in funding over a four-year period.

All programme documentation, including relevant deadlines and guides to the application process, will be available on the HEA website on Monday, 14th October
