The Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Mr Simon Harris, T.D., has announced his decision to grant technological university status to the Connacht Ulster Alliance consortium of Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Sligo, and Letterkenny Institute of Technology. Atlantic Technological University will be established on 1 April 2022.
